The Series
The Virginia Mini Cup Racing Association (VMCRA) was founded in 1996. We provide a safe, affordable and fun racing atmosphere that welcomes drivers ages 13 and up. We strive to keep all cars on a level playing field by adhering to the rules set forth by the Series Director and Executive Board. Our series offers exciting double-file restarts and inverted fields for double features to keep the racing even more competitive.
Our traveling series is one of the few to promote outside of the ovals we compete. We not only promote Mini Cup Racing, we promote the racetracks, the series sponsors, the team sponsors and our drivers. Places where we have been seen over the years include events at schools, churches, shopping mall displays, parades, restaurants, National Night Out, business openings and even Fredericksburg Nationals baseball games.
Our drivers include police officers, military veterans, business owners, contractors, high school/college students, auto mechanics and many other forms of employment.
In 2024 we celebrate 28 Years of organized Mini Cup Racing. Many drivers have moved on to next levels of racing. Some have made the jump to NASCAR in some capacity. Some have become local short track heroes and still race.
